Bernard Atiku, the Ayivu county Member of Parliament has finally broken his silence and admitted chairing the Arua NRM party caucus meeting.
Recently, Forum for Democratic Change-FDC party officials in Arua rose up in arms against the opposition legislator for chairing an NRM party caucus meeting.
The meeting was meant to discuss the proposed creation of additional constituencies in Arua District.
Hamza Manzu, the Arua FDC party chairperson told URN that they had resolved to summon the MP to explain why he chaired the NRM meeting and state his position in the opposition party.

MP Atiku admitted calling and chairing the NRM party caucus meeting. According to Atiku, as a Member of Parliament, he represents all the people in his constituency irrespective of their political party affiliation.

Atiku says he met the NRM party members to enlighten them on the importance of a city status.

The legislator also says he was yet to receive the summons from the FDC party leadership in the district to appear before the disciplinary committee.
