Members of the Parliamentary Social Services Committee have urged the Ministry of Health to consider improving the state of hospitals across the country.

Beatrice Rwakimari, the Ntungamo district woman MP expressed shock that Buhinga regional referral hospital lacks a sewage disposal facility. She says the lack of a sewer system exposes patient's to diseases like cholera, dysentery, typhoid and worms.
Rwakimari has urged the Ministry of health to work with National water and Sewage Corporation to ensure that there is a proper sewer system at the hospital.
The MPs also discovered that health workers at Buhinga hospital sleep in makeshift and condemned houses.
The Medical superintendent Buhinga Dr. Charles Olora said the hospital was overwhelmed by the number of patients from neighboring districts.
