Muni University students in Arua city are demanding the installation of security lights along Arua City –Muni University road to address insecurity in Barifa Central Forest reserve.

Their demand comes in the wake of renewed attacks on road users, by suspected criminal gangs along the road where many students have lost laptops, and cash among others at night.

Shafic Magala, a second-year nursing student at the university notes that traveling along the road had become risky, especially for students due to the presence of suspected robbers who camp inside the forest. He says there is an urgent need to install security lights along the road to minimize cases of attacks.
