Justice Henrietta Wolayo, Soroti resident judge also overseeing Karamoja, will try a total of 33 murder cases during the 40 day criminal session that has opened today at the Chief Magistrate Court in Moroto.
Others are rape, 17, defilement, 19 and aggravated robbery, two cases. The cases range from 2013 to 2016.
Among the murder cases, one that has been given forethought is the shooting of former Nadunget Councilor aspirant, Raphael Eritoi, in the 2016 general elections. The five suspects will be tried after writing their confessions to court in the past months as having participated in the murder.
