The meeting will be attended by members of the Central Executive Committee, NRM District Chairpersons, NRM Municipal Mayors/ flag bearers, NRM EALA MPs, members of NRM Historical Leaders Forum, members of all special organs and chairpersons of the NRM branches in the diaspora.
President Yoweri Museveni has called a meeting of the National Executive Council (NEC) of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party this Friday.

NRM's Communications Officer Rogers Mulindwa confirmed the meeting in a Press Statement issued on Thursday. He, however, declined to divulge details on the agenda saying this will be tabled and discussed in the meeting.

"This serves to inform the NRM members of the National Executive Council (NEC) excluding serving Members of Parliament, that there will be a meeting this Friday, October 27 at State House Entebbe," the statement reads.

NEC is the first organ of the NRM which deals with policy matters in the party. It's meeting this Friday comes a few days after another organ; the Central Executive Committee (CEC) backed the contentious private member's bill seeking to remove the presidential age cap from the Constitution.

Once endorsed by parliament, the bill will allow incumbent president Yoweri Museveni to seek reelection when his term of office ends in 2021. He is now aged 73, and would not be eligible for another term of office.
