Museveni Asks Entebbe Voters to Shun Opposition Candidates

Museveni, who addressed his supporters after 7 pm, an hour after official campaign time deadline, asked the voters to electe Rose Tumusiime, the NRM flag bearer in order to easily access government programmes.

The National Resistance Movement-NRM party presidential candidate, Yoweri Museveni has warned Entebbe residents against voting for opposition leaders, whom he accuses of being economic saboteurs.

 

He told voters at his campaign rally at Works Grounds in Katabi in Entebbe on Wednesday evening, that the failure to elect an MP from the ruling party has hindered development. 

Mohammed Kawuma, the incumbent Entebbe Municipality Member of parliament is a member of the opposition Democratic Party. He isn't seeking re-election.

Museveni stressed the need for peace and stability, as well as patriotic leaders for economic development to thrive. Once re-elected, Museveni promised to focus on infrastructure development, extension of electricity to rural areas.

He further pledged to build a technical institute in each constituency across the country, which will enhance skills among the youths to create their own jobs. The NRM flag bearer, Rose Tumusiime tasked the President to recruit more health workers in the district.

She lamented over the poor health services at various health centers in the municipality, which she attributed to staff shortage. Today Museveni is expected to campaign on Buvuma Island.
