Museveni Donates UGX 60M to Two Churches in Katakwi

Rev. Fr. Remi Nyengere, the Dean of Katakwi Deanery and St. Stephen Catholic Parish priest who received the money explained that they have so far injected Shillings 1 billion into the project, adding that they need at least another Shillings 1billlion to complete the construction.

President, Yoweri Museveni has donated Shillings 60 million towards the construction of St. Stephen Catholic Parish and St. Paul Church of Uganda in Katakwi district.   

Museveni delivered the money through the vice President, Retired Major Jesca Alupo Epel over the weekend. 

She noted that the president was aware of the burden the Christians were facing to construct both churches.

Nyengere said the president’s donation has come at the right time because they were struggling to raise money for the project.
