President Yoweri Museveni says he can never arrest his Sudanese counterpart, Omar el Bashir on Ugandan soil.

Museveni was responding to questions on whether President Bashir, who arrived on Monday evening to attend an Inter-Governmental Agency for Development (IGAD) meeting at State House, Entebbe, will be arrested by the government.

Bashir, who is indicted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for war crimes committed in Sudan, joined Kenya President, Uhuru Kenyatta and representatives from South Sudan and Ethiopia to discuss, among other issues, regional security and infrastructural development.

Early this year, the ICC aske the South African government to arrest Bashir, who was in the country to attend a summit of the African Union, however President Jacob Zuma refuse to do so.

Museveni, who repeatedly described Bashir\'s arrest as kihuni, which means a crook in English, says such calls are being fronted by the Western powers.

Museveni has on several occasions criticized the ICC for targeting African leaders, insisting that the African continent should be left to find its own solutions.
