Museveni Mourns Bugisu's Ex-Umukuka Wilson Wamimbi

The president of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has described the late former Culture leader (Umukuka) of Masaaba culture institution as a great hard-working and incorruptible leader the young generation should emulate.

In his message Jesica Alupo, the vice president during the burial on Saturday at Wilson Wamimbi's home in  Busano Sub-county in Mbale district.

Museveni said that Wamimbi in his lifetime had been a hard-working man who didn't tolerate corruption. Museveni said the fact that Wamimbi was incorruptible was the reason he appointed him as ambassador to Canada in the 1990s.

He said that when the late Wamimbi was the LCV of Mbale district, Mbale was amongst the well-performing districts and corrupt-free across the country.

Museveni urged the upcoming young politicians and leaders to emulate the late Wamimbi such that in the future they can be recognized.

Judi Mike Mudoma the culture leader of the Masaba culture institution appreciated the president for giving the former Umukuka official state burial.

He says that the people of Bugisu land have lost a very vital irreplaceable person but challenged the president for forgetting the Bugisu region in terms of giving them cabinet ministerial position during the recent cabinet reshuffles.

John Musila member of parliament representing Bubulo East constituency in Namisindwa district said  Bugisu has remained with Nandala Mafabi and a few hard-working and developmental leaders.

He urged the leaders from the Bugisu region to work together as a team as a way of pushing something from the government

Late Wilson Wamimbi Weyasa was born in 1938 in  Busano Sub County in Mbale district and went to Nabumali High School for his education career before joining former Uganda Polytechnic now Kyambogo University where he was trained as a teacher then went to Makerere where he was also trained as a marketer then later worked at BCU as marketing manager.

Weyasa was born in the Sano sub-clan Wanale clan, In 2010 he was elected as the first culture leader ( Umukuka) of the Masaba culture institution before succeeding to Late Bob Mushikori in 2016 then this current Umukuka Judi Miki Mudoma.
