President Yoweri Museveni has attacked Kenya\'s Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) leader Raila Odinga, telling him not to waste time disapproving Uganda\'s sugar deal with Kenya.

Museveni who was addressing the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) currently sitting in Kampala, attacked Odinga for trying to block the Uganda sugar from entering Kenya.

This comes after Raila Odinga\'s opposition political party released its programme of rallying Kenyans to reject a partnership allowing Uganda to export sizeable amounts of sugar to Kenya.

Odinga claimed that allowing the dumping of sugar in Kenya would devastate the economies of a quarter of the counties of Kenya and a huge section of the rural agricultural population.

President Museveni questioned whether Odinga\'s job was to direct Uganda\'s goods away from Kenya yet Uganda, has been supporting the prosperity of Kenya for many years.

Museveni said that the East African Community needs an open market in order to support families and companies but that he was surprised that Odinga who he referred to as his young brother, attacked the Uganda-Kenya sugar deal.

He noted that he would call Raila Odinga and tell him not to waste the EAC time.

Museveni said that Uganda sugar should go to Kenya without any hindrance as the Kenyan goods are coming to Uganda without any hindrance.
