A number of Muslims have been either been killed or arrested and tortured while in detention. Some of the Muslims who were tortured were arrested on allegations of killing Former Police Spokesperson Andrew Felix Kaweesi.

The Deputy Mufti, Sheik. Ali Juma Shiwuyo asked the government not to listen to false intelligence reports that implicate Muslims in killings.

After the special prayers, quarrels emerged outside the Mosque between a group of people claiming to be supporters of People Power and another group that was opposed to their presence at the mosque.

They strongly condemned the killings and vowed not to stop demanding for justice.
