Mutebi, the Entebbe Division A chairperson defeated businessman Fabrice Rulinda, with 5,437 votes against Rulinda’s 3,474 votes. He polled a total of 5,437 votes while Rulinda got a total of 3,474 votes.
Michael Kabwama Mutebi has won the National Resistance Movement- NRM
primaries for the Entebbe Municipality Mayoral seat.
Mutebi, the Entebbe Division A chairperson defeated a businessman Fabrice Rulinda, with 5,437
votes against Rulinda’s 3,474 votes.
The results were from 23 out of the 24 polling stations in Entebbe
municipality. The results at Bunonko-Misoli polling station were cancelled due
to chaos and violence after Rulinda and Mutebi's supporters disagreed over the
verification and polling exercise.
However, Rulinda’s supporters claim that Mutebi and his polling
agents, especially at Katabi-Busambaga, Katabi-Kitubulu and Katabi-Namate
blocked them from voting.

Some of Rulinda’s supporters say that they will support the incumbent Mayor Vincent De Paul Kayanja who
is a member of the Democratic Party-DP, in next year's elections.

Meanwhile, Jacey Birungi, a resident of Kitooro and member of
Rulinda's campaign team wants him to stand as an independent candidate.
She says that petitioning the NRM secretariat will be wastage of time.
In the 2016 Elections, Rulinda contested and lost as an independent
candidate for the Entebbe Municipality MP race. He lost to Rosemary Tumusiime.
