Nighty Akullu, a mother of Seven in Lalal Village says her huts were brought down by a strange fire that broke out at about 3am as they slept. She says she lost the only four bags of family food she had stored in the house in the fire.
Twenty people are homeless in Lalal Central village in Adilang Sub County in Agago district after their houses were destroyed by a mysterious fire.
Justine Tonyero, a firefighter in the village, says the fire has consumed 8 huts within one week. He says although security blames the fire on arsonists, residents suspect something evil behind the fire. She says she lost the only four bags of food she had stored for her family in the fire. Jimmy Okello, the Lalal Village chairperson says most of the incidents he has recorded happened between 11Pm and 3am in the night. He says residents have lost goods valued at Shillings 1.4 Million since the first incident, a week ago.
Raymond Omara, the Adilang sub county chairperson, says the fire has also affected Dr. Aldo Otto in Adilang Trading Center. He says Otto lost a car and medicine worth 5.6 Million Shillings in his clinic when it caught fire two weeks ago. Omara says they have intensified investigation to establish the exact cause of the fire and urges residents to remain vigilant.
