Nabilatuk District Councilor Arrested for Alleged Defilement

The Police have arrested the councilor representing people with disability in Nabilatuk district for allegedly defiling an 8-year-old girl. 

The suspect has been identified as James Amongin, aged 70 years old and a resident of Lodisi cell in Nabilatuk town council   It is alleged that on Thursday, at about 4:00 pm, the suspect called the minor inside his house to pick him up a bottle of beer while he was seated on the bed. 

He later grabbed the victim as she was handing over the bottle before defiling her.

Longole said that a team of investigators visited the scene of crime and recorded relevant statements to aid their investigations.

‘’Once police inquiries are complete, the suspect will be arraigned before the courts of law to answer charges of Aggravated Defilement’’ Longole said.   

Longole urged the parents to protect their children ahead of the festive holiday and limit the time children spend outside the home.   He also warned children against engaging in activities that expose them to sexual and physical abuse.
