Abdul Nadduli the National Resistance Party chairperson for Luweero district has quit the race ahead of  party primaries in September,2015 citing poor facilitation .

Nadduli who has served in the seat since 2004 says that he won\'t seek re-election for district NRM chairperson and has not picked nomination forms ahead of party primaries in September, this year.

Nadduli aged 72 years  says that he is frustrated over lack of funds to run party activities and mobilization campaigns in the district.

He explains that whenever he calls party meetings, NRM supporters in the area think that he is well facilitated and can buy them food, drinks and give transport which he does not have.

He also blasted the NRM party secretariat for facilitating the party activities only in campaigns and bothering to build party structures.

He says he cannot continue mobilizing support across the district without even funds for fuel and he is set to retire from the service.

He, however, says he has picked nomination forms to contest for the NRM Vice chairperson Buganda region and district LC 5 chairman seats because those can easily attract funding.

Nadduli said that despite the challenges he has recruited new members and consolidated support for party, mobilized resources and maintained party offices. He has also donated over 70,000 coffee seedlings and hundreds of chicken to party supporters in his capacity as NRM chairperson.

But Rose Namayanja the NRM National Treasurer admitted the issued raised by Nadduli and says that the party through recommendations from Central Executive Committee has taken measures to address them.

She cited some measures as appointment of full time party secretariat which will oversee all activities of party structures.

Nadduli now leaves the race to Ali Ndawula, former Bamunanika Constituency MP, Ronald Ndawula the former LC 5 seat, Carol Nalubega his deputy among others.

Ronald Ndawula, an aspirant, says that Nadduli could have attracted more funding if he had better mobilization and networking skills within various leaders in the party.

Ndawula also accused Nadduli of failing to convene district conferences to address disputes and weakening party support.

Steven Wasswa, an NRM supporter in Luweero town, welcomed Nadduli\'s decision but asked him to also give up interests in other two seats because he is too old and lost popularity.

Charles Ssebyala the LC 3 chairperson for Luweero town council says that Nadduli should retire from elective posts and be appointed presidential advisor on veterans\' affairs because he is too old to deliver.

Ssebyala faults Nadduli of failing to use the seat to ask President Museveni to order elevation of Kasana Health Centre IV to hospital status, construct juice processing factory for abundant pineapples and fight poverty.

Nadduli is a retired major who fought during the National Resistance Movement war of 1981-1986. Nadduli is also current LC 5 chairperson for Luweero district and a member of NRM Central Executive Committee.
