Kiwoko Police in Nakaseke District are holding a 29 year old man for allegedly defiling his biological sister aged 15.
Edward Kyaligonza, the Nakaseke district Police Commander, identifies the suspect as Amos Ssemakula (29). The peasant farmer and resident of Namasujju village in Kasangombe Sub County in Nakaseke District was arrested on Thursday evening.

Coming under pressure from their mother Maria Rosa Namutebi to reveal the identity of the father, Ssemakula fled their home before his sister could make the shocking revelation. The victim says she was forced to reveal the incestuous relationship because their mother had stopped giving her and the baby care.
The mother then reported a defilement case to police who started the hunt for Ssemakula. He was arrested upon return to the village.
The victim is a primary five pupil. The baby is a year old.
Kyaligonza says that Ssemakula is currently detained at Kiwoko Police Station on charges of aggravated defilement case file Nakaseke CRB 703/2013.
Kyaligonza notes that defilement cases in the area are on the rise. 23 defilement cases have been reported since the year began. He attributes the rise to drug abuse and idleness among the youth.
Last month Kiwoko Police arrested a man Joseph Segawa (25) for defiling a 13 year old girl whom he was living with as his wife at Kapeke village in Kikamulo Su County. He is currently on remand at Wakyato prison in Nakaseke District.
