Isah Ssemwogerere the Savannah Regional Police Spokesperson says that the second gun has been recovered in the bushes at Buwaazi village in Semuto during the search mounted by policemen and local residents.
Police in Nakaseke district has finally recovered its second
gun which thugs robbed on Monday night from policemen deployed to guard Chinese
quarry.
On Monday night at around 9;10pm, 10 suspected robbers armed with a pump
action gun and machetes raided a quarry belonging to Jiu Zhou Stone company Uganda Limited, a Chinese firm located at Lule Ward
in Semuto town council.
The robbers cut two Policemen leaving them with head wounds and cuts on the hands before they disappeared with two guns as well as unknown sums of money.
The injured Probation Police Constables Simon Ebong and Alfred Jakisa have since been transferred to Kiwoko Hospital for treatment after
sustaining injuries in the attack.
Since the attack, policemen together with residents have
been on the hunt for the guns as well as the suspects.

says that this afternoon the second gun has been recovered in the bushes at
Buwaazi village in Semuto town where the robbers dumped it.
Ssemwogerere adds that Police also recovered pangas used by
assailants to attack the Policemen and impounded a Toyota Premio car registration
UAY 325N which was carrying the thugs.
He however notes that only two suspects have been arrested
during the operation and eight others remain on the run.

Both residents and policemen say the recovery of the two guns is a relief because there were fears that they could be used to terrorize communities.
Police have recovered the broken safe box that was containing
the money dumped in nearby bushes.
However, the exact sums of money stolen from the company
remain unknown.
Scores of Police officers had been deployed at Jiu Zhou Stone company Uganda Limited to investigate and
guard the company.
Recently robbers armed with a sub machine gun and a pistol attacked mobile money shops in Kiwanula and Kasiiso trading centre in Luwero district.
They disappeared with phone handsets and cash.
According to the Police Crime report six
people were killed and six others injured in robberies from 2020 to the end of
January 2021 in Greater Luwero districts.
