Nansana Mayor Asks for More Funds for Roads

According to Nakazzi, prior to its elevation to a municipality, Nansana used to receive Shillings 1 billion from the Uganda Road Fund. She said the money was increased to Shillings 1.5 billion when Nansana was elevated to a municipality, which says is too little since they have to share it with the four divisions.

She told a budget conference held at Ivory hotel on Wednesday that the money they receive currently is too little to cater for the road network in the Municipality.

“We need like six billion Shillings to work on roads in Nansana Municipality. I ask the government to rethink again and add Nansana Municipality more funds so that they can plan well for the people in the Municipality,” she said.
