The Kayunga District Woman Member of Parliament Idah Erios Nantaba has thrown her support behind an independent candidate Majid Nyanzi for the Kayunga LCV race.

For the last three weeks, the officials from the National Resistance Movement-NRM Secretariat have camped in Kayunga to unite party members and mobilize support to the NRM flagbearer Andrew Muwonge.

Rose Mary Seninde Nansubuga says that efforts to mediate reconcile Nantaba and the District NRM Chairperson Moses Kaliisa Kalangwa have not been fruitful.

On Monday, Nantaba publically declared her support for Nyanzi and accompanied him for the nomination exercise.  According to Nantaba, the constitution grants her the right to support a candidate of her choice.
