Nine-man Busoga United on Saturday defeated Police FC 2:1 in
the Uganda Premier Leaguer match.
Busoga’s Ismael Kawawulo and Umar Mukoobe were given marching orders in the
first and second round respectively. However, they managed to put up a spirited
fight on their rivals.
Busoga United’s first goal was scored by Boban Zirintusa in the 5th minute
whereas Julius Debo who came in as a substitute netted the winning goal in the
Police FC’s goal was scored by Andrew Kigozi in the 20th minute.
Abbey Kikomeko the coach of Busoga United blamed his players for
orchestrating minor mistakes which have earned them red cards.
“A red card is given to undisciplined players and I have noticed
that some of my boys commit unnecessary mistakes which end up costing the whole
team,” he says.
Kikomeko adds that “am much delighted in my heart because, despite the void of
two players, we managed to win the game. I will take advantage of the upcoming
international break to tame and train them in the new terminologies of football
so as to avoid unnecessary mistakes,”
Police FC’s head coach, Abdullah Mubiru promised to re-organize his team ahead
of upcoming matches.
