Eights students of Nkumba University are in trouble for allegedly assaulting an officer attached to the Special Forces Command-SFC.

The students were picked up by Entebbe police on Monday morning. Some of the suspects are Duncan Kasozi, Riichard Mubiru, Steven Kiwanuka, Isma Mboodo and Rauben Kato

They are said to have assaulted Owen Kusiima on Sunday when he entered a student’s hall while drank. Kusiima is said to have stormed the hostel around 3am demanding for unidentified girl.

He switched off the lights prompting students to ask why the power was off.

“They later realized there was one person who was forcing his way into room number 27 and they made an alarm. Some decided to start beating him up until he fled,” Sophie Nantumbwe, one of the students said.

Parents of the affected students stormed the office of Entebbe Resident District Commissioner demanding the release of the students.

The parents led by Charles Kasozi from Nsaggu Village in Wakiso, says police declined to release the students and asked them to vacate its premises.

Kawonawo says the students will be arraigned in court for assault once investigations are complete.
