The Electoral Commission is unable to handle the numerous election-related petitions forwarded to it because of a lack of quorum to preside over the hearing of the cases.

Only 150 of the 290 petitions forwarded to the Commission have been dealt with.

Sister Margaret Magooba, the Deputy Chairperson of the Electoral Commission says many Commission staff are unavailable to handle the cases because of the demands of the election season.
