He says the money spent may increase, following the postponement of elections in some districts. On the source of the money, Opondo said the party has volunteers, member subscriptions and nomination fees from aspirants.

Meanwhile, village registrars in Lamwo town council and Lokung sub-county refused to manage Tuesday\'s NRM primaries over non-payment.

The registrars briefly confiscated voting materials and demanded for their payment before elections could start.

Lamwo district NRM registrar, Robinson Akera negotiated with the registrars, who gave back voting materials. Some of theme however refused to do any work until they are paid. Akera said there was money sent to pay the village registrars for the previous work.
