More than 200 employees of Ntungamo District Local Government were stranded this morning following the loss of keys to the administration block. The block hosts more than 50 offices and district council hall.

According to available information, the keys are deposited at the police station every evening for safe custody.

The LC V Chairperson Denis Singahache says that he was told that the messenger delivered the keys to the police station but they wouldn’t be traced this morning.

This saw the employees spend close to three hours outside the office as the concerned officers met frantic efforts to find the keys.

Singahache suspects that a section of councilors who filed a petition against him hid the keys to frustrate the district council meeting.  The District Council was expected to convene around 9 a.m.
