David Tugume, an employee of Zanack Holding Company has dragged the firm to the Ntungamo labor office for neglect. Tugume accuses the tin mining company for neglecting him when he sustained injuries in the line of duty.

According to Tugume, he was extracting tin from a pit in Rwamwire in Mwerasandu in Ntungamo district in 2015 when it caved in and injured him. Tugume says he was rescued and rushed to health Center IV and later to Rubaare Health Center IV before he was referred to Mulago National Referral Hospital.

The father of four says Zanack Holding Company dumped him without any help and warned him against divulging information that he had worked with them. Tugume says he made various attempts to get help from the company in vain.

His neighbor, John Friday Barigye, says the last two years and 26 months have been terrible for Tugume. He explains that Tugume sold off everything to raise money for treating, adding that all his children have dropped out of school. Barigye has called on government rescue Tugume who is currently admitted at Ruhaama Health Center III.

Benon Mugume, the acting Ntungamo District Labor Officer has summoned the management of Zanack Holding Company to file its defense within the next seven days.
