It is alleged that the candidates ferried more than 200 voters to Ntungamo Municipality with intent to have them participate in the NRM party primaries. The voters were ferried from the neighbouring sub-counties of Rwashamaire, Rubaare, Itojo, Rukoni and some from Sheema municipality with intention of voting for them.

According to Kasasira, the candidates made statements and were granted police bond.

On Monday, the NRM party Coordinator Ankole Sub-region, Dr Dickson Kamukama, suspended the primaries for the Mayoral seat due to irregularities. He says that the three candidates confessed to flouting the electoral regulations by ferrying people from different parts of Ankole to vote in Ntungamo.
