Onduparaka FC Defeats Busoga United 2-1

Fred Lumu, the Coach for Busoga United attributed the defeat to fatigue of his players but promised to bounce back in the next game.

Onduparaka FC has defeated Busoga United 2-1  in second round of the Uganda Premier League tie played at the Greenlight Stadium on Tuesday.

The Caterpillars scored the first goal in the 27th minute after Julius Malingumu headed directly in the net. But Onduparaka’s jubilations were cut short after Busoga United’s Nelson Mandela scored in the 31st minute.

However, the game took a new twist in the 70th minute after Onduparaka’s Rashid Okocha scored the second goal to make it 2:1.

Simeon Nsubuga, the Assistant Coach for Onduparaka expressed happiness at the results.

Onduparaka FC is now in 4th in the table standings with 30 points, while Busoga United are in number 7 with 27 points.

In Jinja, KCCA FC defeated Kyetume FC 2:0 at the Jinja based mighty arena on Tuesday. 

KCCA’s goals were scored by Sadat Anaku and Elias Kisambu in the first half. 

KCCA Manager Mike Mutebi Mutebi said that, after Vipers' draw with Mbarara City FC in Bombo, his three points earned in Jinja will help him to tighten the grip on the title. 

The win leaves KCCA with 41points against table leader, Vipers FC’s 43 points.
