Onduparaka FC has defeated Busoga United 1:0 in the Uganda Premier League match played on Saturday at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.

The goal was scored by Rajab Kakoza in the 45th minute.  The win extended Onduparaka unbeaten of five games against teams from Eastern Uganda.

Onduparaka's assistant coach, Saleh Ssempijja says that his team is struggling to attain a position among the league's top three clubs and winning away matches will enable them to achieve their target.

"Our team is struggling to attain and maintain a position among the league's top three clubs, therefore winning both away and home matches is a better in reaching this hard but rather achievable target," he says.

He adds that "We are now nine points strong in the league after this match, and looking at the tight table standings, my team is better off, “

Busoga United's assistant coach, Fred Lumu, says that they failed to master the style of play.

"My team lost today's match partly because the boys failed to apply our in-house style of down balls and succumbed to the opponent's high balls, costing us a simple goal," he says.
