It is alleged that, on Monday, while in the company of others who are still at large, Hussein lured the 13-year-old girl from a grocery shop along Main Street to his home at Kutch road, in the southern division, Jinja city.
Police in Kiira region have arrested a Pakistani national, Hussein Chadilah, over child trafficking involving a 13-year-old girl. Hussein is currently detained at Nalufenya police station in Jinja City.
It is alleged that, on Monday, while in the company of others who are still at large, Hussein lured the 13-year-old girl from a grocery shop along Main Street to his home at Kutch road, in the southern division, Jinja city.
Hussein, a drug dispenser at Royal Pharmacy, reportedly enticed the victim with sweets to accept a motorcycle ride. Hussein, then reportedly locked her up in his house. The girl, however, banged the door and shouted for help, which attracted Hussein's neighbours.
Hussein fled into hiding from where he was arrested by the detectives on Wednesday.
The girl's mother says that her daughter was traumatised by the incident and she is currently receiving psychosocial therapy. She wants police to extensively investigate the matter.
The Kiira regional police spokesperson, James Mubi, says that a team of detectives has been dispatched to investigate the matter.
