Oulanyah Warns Against Divisions in Obongi County

Oulanya cautioned residents against creating confusion when the new district starts but rather be truthful and stick to the plan for the new district.

The Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Jacob Oulanyah has cautioned the people of Moyo and Madi Sub region splitting themselves along political lines as they pursue development.

He made the appeal while presiding over the commemoration of Obongi Day 2018 at Itula Sub County Headquarters on Sunday where a detailed development plan for the proposed Obongi district was unveiled.

The district, which was curved from Moyo, is expected to start operating on July 1st 2019. Oulanyah cautioned residents against creating confusion when the new district starts but rather be truthful and stick to the plan for the new district.

The Obongi County Member of Parliament, Kaps Hassan Fungaroo called on his electorate to desist from political conspiracy with intentions of derailing the planned operationalization of Obongi district

William Komakech, the Moro Resident District Commissioner, urged the people of Obongi to work with Moyo district as they plan to operationalize the new Obongi district.

More than 1000 people and leaders from West Nile districts attended the two days celebrations, which mainly focused on preparing people for the new district.
