A highly charged parent has stormed a head teacher’s office this morning demanding payment for his debt of 92,000 shillings.

Davies Wakoba, a parent and neighbor of Luwobe Primary School in Bududa district stormed the office and quarreled with the administrators who were present saying if they don't pay him, he will take legal steps.

According to Wakoba, on 30th October last year the head teacher Debora Wemesa sent her deputy also called Stephen Patrick Kakala requesting him (parent) to feed the teachers who had returned to school following the partial lifting of the lockdown.

Wakoba complied with their request and supplied them with food the understanding that they would pay him after the month.

He said he fed them for a week and the bill mounted up to 92,000 shilling but since then, the school has never paid his money which he says is for his business. He claims that the business has since collapsed because he used to "recycle" the 100,000 shillings and get profit out of it.

“I tried to go to the Bududa district Senior Education officer Vincent Matanda to complain about the matter last week but he has not helped me up to now” he said, and now wants the school to double his money to 180,000  as it has stayed for so long or else he seeks legal redress.

Efforts to get Debora Wemesa, the head teacher to respond to the claims were futile as she was not in the school at that time.

However, her deputy Stephen Patrick Kakala acknowledges the amount owed to Wakoba,  saying they have always wanted to pay the money but because the parent added interest of another 90,000 making it 180,000, they are unable to pay it.

“His money is there even right now if he wants it, we can give it to him” he said.

Vincent Matanda the Bududa District Senior Educaton Officer asked the angry parent to keep calm as they handle the matter to see that his money is paid.
