Warriors Stop Ndejje to Maintain Unbeaten Run in NBL

Pemba Warriors on Friday evening stopped Ndejje University Angels 72-53 to remain unbeaten in the National Basketball League.

In a game played at Lugogo MTN arena, Warriors led the first and second quarter 22-9, 35-24 before leading the third and fourth quarter 47-42 and a final 72-53 despite a good fight put up by the Ndejje side.

Warriors new signing Michael Buzangu Ntumba was yet again the man of the match as he scored a game high 22 points while Saidi Amsi Dany followed with 14 points. Innocent Ochera made 13 points for the Ndejje side while Derrick Katumba made 11 points.

The win puts Warriors at an unbeaten run winning all of its six games. Warriors last won the championship in 2012. The current title holders are City Oilers who have won it for the past four consecutive years.

Meanwhile Uganda Christian University –UCU Canons struggled to stop new comers Just Kip Living –JKL Dolphins 69-58 in a hotly contested game. UCU led in all the four quarters 21-10, 41-26,58-42 and 69-58.

UCU's Maheta Joas made 20 points while Steven Wundi made 15. JKL's Norman Blick made 11 points.
