East African community-EAC member states on Friday evening concluded a two weeks' Command Post Exercise, the 12th of its kind which was held in Jinja Uganda.

The exercise aimed at promoting security and economic transformation attracted 314 participants from the EAC of Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Kenya, Burundi, and South Sudan.

During the event, State Minister for Veteran Affairs Lt Col Bright Rwamirama said that the joint activities conducted under the East African Community (EAC) Cooperation in Defence Affairs are enhancers of the integration of the Community. He noted that the EAC Partner States have similar security challenges that call for a joint approach to handle.

This, he said, can be achieved through, among others, joint training, joint operations and sharing of information.

"As EAC Partner States, we need to walk the talk to further strengthen our integration so that we can realise its benefits," he said
