The celebration was held under the theme: UPDF and the People: Consolidating the Peace for Sustainable Development and Prosperity. Prior to the day, the Army Week was launched on January 29 and the UPDF conducted symbolic civil military activities in the whole country, with main activities taking place in the eight districts of Acholi sub-region of Kitgum, Agago, Pader, Gulu, Amuru, Lamwo, Nwoya and Omoro.

The 38th Tarehe Sita commemoration, the day when Nationals Resistance Army rebels now UPDF launched the first revolutionary attack in 1981 on Kabamba Barracks against Apollo Milton Obote government was held on Wednesday at Kitgum Core Primary Teachers' College grounds in Kitgum Municipality.
The celebration was held under the theme: "UPDF and the People: Consolidating the Peace for Sustainable Development and Prosperity."

Ochola's journalism career begun from Radio King 90.2 FM in Gulu around 2009, and Radio Rupiny 95.7 Fm under Vision Group in 2012. He also reported for Mighty Fire 91.5 Fm, Kitgum in 2015 before joining Wizarts Foundation in 2017.
He has been reporting for Uganda Radio Network (URN) since 2017 before being posted as Bureau Chief Kitgum, and latr Gulu between 2018 - 2021. Currently, he reports from Parliament.
