The Bishop of the Diocese of Northern Uganda Johnson Gakumba on
Friday bid farewell to the Christians in Gulu City ahead of his retirement in November
this year.
He became the 7th Bishop of the Diocese of Northern Uganda after taking over
from Retired Bishop Nelson Onono Onweng.
During the ceremony, Bishop Gakumba confirmed 150 children, youth
and adults and also prayed for all the candidates vying for the different
elective positions in Gulu City. Notable among them are Betty Aol Ocan, a
candidate for Gulu City Woman MP, Lyandro Komakech, for Bardege –Layibi
Division, among others.
Bishop Gakumba called for peace during the forthcoming general
elections.
