The National
Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) intake plant located at Kachung in Dokolo
District has been submerged, following the rise in water levels in Lakes; Kyoga, Kwania and Victoria.
The plant
which serves Lira catchment area is almost fully submerged by the floods,
forcing the authorities to improvise ways of maintaining constant water supply
in the area. The floods
have also covered a kilometre of the road leading to the plant, and at the moment, any access
to the plant is by using a canoe.
