Pictorial: MP Aspirants, Supporters Flout COVID-19 Guidelines in Kwania, Oyam

In Kwania district, many candidates were escorted in procession to E.C officers, while some led to their party offices after being nominated. In Oyam district, after the nomination of the State Minister for Defense Charles Okello Engola, supporters led him on a procession for the celebration at his residence, however no one bother to observe SOPs.

Most of the MP aspirants and their supporters in Oyam and Kwania districts during nomination failed to adhere to all the COVID-10 preventive guidelines as instituted by the Ministry of Health and the Electoral Commission.

The aspirants and supporters during the nomination days that ended on Friday were required to wear face masks, keep a social distance, avoid hand shaking/ hugging while they nominate their candidates in a national exercise conducted  across the country.

Despite the presence of security personnel, majority of the aspirants and supporters failed to adhere to the guidelines.

In Kwania district, many candidates were escorted in big processions to Electoral Commission offices, while some moved to their party offices after being nominated.

In Oyam district, after the nomination of the State Minister for Defense, Charles Okello Engola, several supporters many without observing guidelines led him on a procession for the celebration at his residence, however no one bother to observe SOPs.
