Okere is a community-driven development project geared
towards eliminating poverty and promoting education in the area.
The solar- powered city which sits on a 500- acre
piece of land is located in Okere Mom Kok village, Adwari sub county in Otuke district.
Three years ago, the community members were lacking

The children in the area would walk for about 10kms to get to the nearest
government primary school.
However, the city now has an Early Childhood
Development Center, a primary school, a clinic, a village bank and a community
hall that also serves as a cinema, church, and nightclub.
