Parliament today held a
Special Sitting in honor of the late Kawempe North MP, Muhammad Ssegirinya, who
died on Thursday following a long illness.
In a Sitting chaired by
Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among, legislators from across the political
divide urged the government to ensure the suspects are not denied police bond
and bail in courts.
Ssegirinya who spent two
years in jail without being granted bail died while still battling terrorism
charges. He and his Makindye Counterpart, Alan Ssewanyana were arrested and repeatedly
denied bail.
