Police Arrest Three in Connection to Death of Lwengo Man

Muhammad Nsubuga, the Greater Masaka Regional Police Spokesperson, says the postmortem revealed several injuries on the deceased’s head and bruises on the neck. He says they have arrested three people including the bar owner where Katumwa was last seen.

Three people in Lwengo district are in police custody in connection to the murder of 51-year-old man.

The deceased Ronald Katumwa, a resident of Kyangwe village, Kinoni town council was last seen drinking in a local pub on Friday last week. 

His family members and friends have been looking for him until this morning when they found his body in a banana plantation in the town council. 

Residents notified police, which took the body to Kyazanga Health Centre III for postmortem.    

Muhammad Nsubuga, the Greater Masaka Regional Police Spokesperson, says the postmortem revealed several injuries on the deceased’s head and bruises on the neck.

He says they have arrested three people including the bar owner where Katumwa was last seen.  

He, however, declined to reveal details of the suspects to avoid jeopardizing their ongoing investigations.

Nsubuga explains that they have so far arrested three people including the local bar owner to aid the ongoing investigations.  

He appealed to the residents to help police with information concerning the deceased’s death.

Katumwa becomes the fifth person to be killed in Lwengo district in just three months.  Police are yet to establish the mystery behind the murders.
