Police Foils Robbery Attempt in Jinja

LLuchan, a salesman at Sunda Best Ceramics Company narrates that three armed men surrounded his vehicle registration number UAM 836L at the hotel entrance and demanded that he surrenders his bag. A scuffle ensued as the businessman fought to secure the bag which the suspected robbers attempted to grab forcefully.

Police in Kiira region has foiled an armed robbery targeting Chinese businessman, LLuchun Gge at Impala Suites Hotel in Jinja town.

LLuchan, a salesman at Sunda Best Ceramics Company narrates that three armed men surrounded his vehicle registration number UAM 836L at the hotel entrance and demanded that he surrenders his bag. A scuffle ensued as the businessman fought to secure the bag which the suspected robbers attempted to grab forcefully.

The businessman was saved by the response of the hotel employees who called police officers who were close to the hotel, at the time of the attack, to come to his rescue. Mary Kirarisima, the hotel receptionist says that the robbers later sped off in a saloon car.

Although the facility is not working during the ongoing lockdown, it has a special arrangement with LLuchun who stored his merchandise at the facility because all parking yards within Jinja town had filled up to their capacity.

Abby Ngako, the Kiira region spokesperson says efforts to track down the suspects are underway.
