Police Impostor Arrested in Jinja City

Jackson Mukasa, who is detained at the Jinja Central police station was arrested from his hideout at Kisima Islands in Southern Division, Jinja City.
Police in the Kiira region have arrested a 40-year-old man for masquerading as a Field Force Unit-FFU police personnel. 

Jackson Mukasa, who is detained at the Jinja Central police station was arrested from his hideout at Kisima Islands in Southern Division, Jinja City.  His arrest followed complaints of extortion reported by dozens of people. 

It is alleged that Mukasa, alias Afande Kawo would coerce unsuspecting victims into giving him unspecified sums of money after threatening them with fake charges of terrorism, and treason, among others.

One of the victims says that Mukasa intimated to him how he was on the police's red list of treason sponsors and would be pardoned if he paid 500,000 Shillings.

Out of fear, the victim gave Mukasa the money. However returned to the victim Mukasa, claiming for his phone.  Mukasa reportedly started using the victim's phone to extort money from other victims. 

Kiira Regional Police Spokesperson, James Mubi says that they have been tracking down the suspect until he was arrested fleecing money from other victims at Masese landing site.

Mubi also says that following his arrest, police have registered 30 complaints from different victims.
