The police
on Thursday recovered the body of Frank Muwonge in a banana plantation in
Katabi Town Council. Muwonge, aged 30 years, was last seen on Wednesday

Muwonge's friends later rushed him to a clinic for treatment and then took him
to his home after regaining consciousness in Nkumba-Bukolwa village.
Hajji Njuki Mbabali, the Deputy Resident District Commissioner for Entebbe,
says security officers are investigating how Muwonge left his home and
his body was found dumped in the banana plantation in Kasenyi, almost one
kilometer from his home.
He however says preliminary findings indicate Muwonge was drunk and beaten by
fellow drunkards after he went home on Wednesday night.
Njuki says security officers will heighten surveillance and enforcement on nightclubs and bars that are causing noise pollution in Entebbe and neighboring areas because Muwonge's life could have been saved had he
made noise and some people came to his rescue during the fight.

He says some people have been arrested but remained tight-lipped on their
identifies and numbers citing security reasons and safeguarding the progress of
the investigations.
The area chairman, Hussein Kyeyune told journalists that there were no signs of
a fight at the scene. He suspects that Muwonge could have died or was killed
from elsewhere and his body dumped in the banana plantation, almost one
kilometer from his home.
Muwonge's
body has been taken to City Mortuary at Mulago for a postmortem.
