Police Intercepts Taxi Loaded with Suspected Stolen Goats

Kampala police have impounded a passenger taxi with 15 goats suspected to have been stolen. 

The passenger taxi registration number UBB 395K was intercepted along Kampala Road about 1:00am on Tuesday morning.     

Police impounded the taxi and arrested the driver, Richard Ssenyange and conductor, Richard Mukiibi. 

The Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, says upon interrogation, the driver told police that they had bought the goats from Kisenyi market and were transporting them to Buvuma Island.

Onyango, who says the suspects are locked up at Central Police Station –CPS Kampala on tentative charges of animal theft, appeals to whoever could have lost his goats to go to CPS with proof.
