Police Officer Discharged from Dokolo Quarantine

The officer, who is attached to Dokolo Central Police Station, was isolated after suspicious residents saw her disembarking from a Cargo truck in Dokolo Town council.

A female police officer who was quarantined in Dokolo district has been discharged after testing negative for Covid19. The officer, who is attached to Dokolo Central Police Station, was isolated after suspicious residents saw her disembarking from a Cargo truck in Dokolo Town council.

 

Angry residents followed the officer to Dokolo Central Police Station for fear that she could have contracted Covid19 from the truck driver, prompting health officials to quarantine her. She however, discharged after spending 8 days in isolation when her samples tested negative.

In a similar incident, a police Officer attached to Oyam Central Police Station has been isolated. The officer was picked up from Loro town council on Thursday shortly after being dropped by a cargo truck destine to Kamdini trading.

According to information obtained by our reporter the officer board the cargo truck in Mbale District where he had reportedly gone to check on his ATM card. Michael Odongo, the North Kyoga Police Spokesperson, says the officer was arrested by police and handed over to the Covid19 task force.

Odongo cautioned other police officers to avoid contact with truck drivers, saying the two officers will be charged with disobedience of lawful orders.
