Amos Kungu, a Police officer who succumbed to injuries from a Bomb blast at the Central Police Station in Kampala has
been laid to rest at his Ancestral home in Molu Village, Budaka District.
Kungu is one of the seven people who died as a result of the
twin bombing when explosions hit the Central Police Station in Kampala and the IPS building along
parliament avenue on Tuesday. The attacks that came one after the other left more than 30 people injured.
His widow Hanifa Nakiyinga, recalls that on that day, she and her husband left home together to go to
work. But as the working day started, she heard the news that the Central Police Station; her husband's work station had been hit by a bomb. Her efforts to reach him on phone yielded no results until the news of his death came in.

Born in 1985, Kungu joined the Police Forces in 2015 and he
died at the rank of a police constable, and, according to his elder brother Ben Koma, the deceased was the sole breadwinner for the family, including their 90-year-old mother.

people in all spheres of life should propagate peace and avoid any form of
violence which has led to loss of lives of gallant police officers who are
supposed to protect life. Similarly, Kaderuna Sub County Councilor Jackson Kadyama called for vigilance to tame the spread of violent extremism.
