The Southern Region police spokesperson, Muhammad Nsubuga, says police have recovered the rope that was used to strangle the minor and an axe that was used hit his grandmother on the head. He, however, says they are yet to arrest any suspect in connection to the murder.

Richard Ssekyondwa, the Butenga sub country Councilor says that it’s unfortunate that attacks on innocent people are happening at night when police and other security agencies are expected to be on the ground to either enforce curfew or provide security to residents since criminal activities are always on the increase during the festive season.

He says that they have asked police to heighten patrols in the district to contain such crime, which he attributes to idleness and drug abuse.
