Politics took center stage at the burial of the late Susan Namaganda, the former Bukomansimbi Woman Member of Parliament. Namaganda was laid to rest on Tuesday, at her ancestral home in Kawoko village in Butenga Sub County in Bukomansimbi district.

Thousands of mourners turned up for the burial of the legislator who succumbed to injuries she sustained in an accident at Mpanga, along Kampala –Masaka Highway

Mourners hailed Namaganda for her push for the improvement of the agriculture sector.

However, the burial didn\'t pass off without incident.  The Democratic Party youths disrupted the speech of Charles Peter Mayiga, the Katikiro of Buganda when they started shouting the Go Forward slogan when independent presidential candidate Amama Mbabazi, showed up.  Mayiga was forced to suspend his speech for several minutes until the ex-premier settled down.

Drama ensued when security detail of Mayiga and that of Justine Kasule Lumumba, the NRM party Secretary General, opposed the decision that Mbabazi, should seat in the VIP tent.

This drew angry reactions from DP members led by Mathias Nsubuga, the DP Secretary General who shouted at the police officers, telling them Mbabazi was their presidential candidate.

More drama followed when Lumumba presented Shillings 3 million, as condolences from the party to the chagrin of the mourners, given the fact that Mbabazi had contributed Shillings 10 million.

The mourners heckled Lumumba, accusing her, and the NRM party of being misers. “How can a party in power for thirty years, only donate three million shillings? Does that mean for every ten years, you have managed to save one million shillings? Shame upon you,” the DP youths shouted at Lumumba.  Lumumba\'s efforts to explain that the party chairman Yoweri Museveni had contributed Shillings 10 million fell on deaf ears.

They asked Lumumba to take back Museveni\'s money and ask him to improve healthcare service delivery. This prompted Lumumba to end her speech prematurely.

In his speech, Mbabazi said he was touched with Namaganda\'s love for her electorate in Bukomansimbi when they first interacted. He promised to start cooperative unions to boost agriculture when he ascends to power.

Dan Kidega, the Speaker of the East African Legislative Assembly, asked government to address the problem of road carnage.

Cue out: …continue dying.”//

Erias Lukwago, the Kampala Lord Mayor asked government to invoke the inquest Act to probe road carnage.

Fred Mukasa Mbidde, the deceased\'s husband insisted that his wife was killed because some people have been fighting her.
