Postmortem: Lecturer Killed By Blunt Force

A source familiar with the investigations told URN on condition of anonymity that the lecturer is suspected to have been attacked by unknown people who hit him in the lower abdomen and upper chest leading to his death.

Sosipateri Nima, a lecturer from Uganda technical Institute, Elgon branch whose body was found lying in Saver's guesthouse in Jinja town on August 2nd, 2018 was killed by a blunt force. 

A postmortem report from Jinja Regional Referral Hospital shows that Nima sustained internal injuries. "No external injuries were observed but he had fractured 3rd and 4th rib on the right side, both lungs were contused," reads the postmortem in part.

 

The postmortem was witnessed by Detective Corporal David Makoba who is attached at Jinja Central Police Station. Police have opened a case of murder under CRB 253/2018 at Jinja CPS.

 

A source familiar with the investigations told URN on condition of anonymity that the lecturer is suspected to have been attacked by unknown people who hit him in the lower abdomen and upper chest leading to his death.

 

Diana Nandawula, the Kiira Region Police spokesperson, declined to confirm that the lecturer was attacked, saying investigations are still ongoing.

 

"I cannot confirm that right now but am aware that detectives are investigating that incident and hunting for possible suspects before forwarding the file to Resident State Attorney for legal advice," Nandawula said.
