Amama Mbabazi Supporters Who Fought In Ntungamo Are Thugs - Museveni

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, also NRM presidential candidate has described supporters of Independent candidate Amama Mbabazi who recently beat up NRM supporters in Ntungamo as thugs.

Museveni told a press conference at the state lodge in Mbale on Sunday that he will personally deal with them.

He said it was a big mistake for Mbabazi supporters to beat NRM supporters saying they will regret. “If you put your hands in the anus of a leopard, you are in trouble,\" said Museveni.

More than 10 people were injured during the clashes in Ntungamo last Sunday in which supporters of presidential candidate Amama Mbabazi reportedly beat up Museveni\'s supporters.

Two people were arrested in connection to these clashes and have accordingly been sent on remand by Ntungamo Magistrate court.

The suspects have been identified as Boaz Kumwesiga, a youth councilor in Ntungamo municipality and Sulait Amanya-Kashaija, the chairman of Ntungamo taxi owners and drivers cooperative society.

Baker Kawonawo, the Ntungamo District Police Commander earlier said another suspect identified as Apollo Asingwire, an LC5 councilor candidate for Ntungamo sub-county has also been arrested and his file is still waiting to be sanctioned by the state. He said more people are still to be arrested.
